EFT Apprentice Engineers Success At IFSEC 2013

EFT apprentice engineers tested their skills and competed in the Engineers of Tomorrow: The UK Security Skills Challenge for Young Engineers & Apprentices.

At the heart of the security industry, sponsored by CSL Dualcom, and in association with Skills for Security, NSI and the SSAIB, with equipment supplied by Texecom & RISCO, the Engineers of Tomorrow UK Apprentice and Young Engineers Challenge 2013 tested the key installation skills of young talent within the industry.

The Engineers of Tomorrow: The UK Security Skills Challenge is a competition run specifically for young engineers and apprentices who want to prove their skills on an international platform and in front of their peers and the security industry’s leading organisations. The competition took place at IFSEC International 2013 from 13-16 May at the NEC, Birmingham. EFT apprentice engineers James Raynor and Stuart Mackensie won 1st place and in doing so have qualified for the grand final and a seat at the Security Excellence Awards in October 2013, where prizes are presented in front of more than 1,000 people. NSI has supported the competition with key stakeholders since it began over 10 years ago and encouraged all electronic security companies to put their young engineers and apprentices forward to take part. NSI experienced auditors adjudicated during the four days of the competition and were looking for entrants to demonstrate key skills and knowledge. Well done to James and Stuart and good luck in the grand final!
