UTC Fire & Security announce new SB-N Active InfraRed Beam series

SB-N products are intended primarily for outdoor Perimeter applications, but may also be used for internal applications. Twin and Quad beam models are available to cover a variety of distances based upon the application.

Each beam set consists of two identical detector modules - equipped with detector cells integrating both transmission and reception functions. These modules are installed facing each other over the distance to be protected providing a non-physical invisible detection zone.

This exciting new Product range offers many unique features previously unseen on AIR sensors, including:

• UTC Custom Housing and Electronics
• 1 person alignment aid (Audible & Visual) at both ends
  – 80% of false alarms on beams are due to poor alignment!
• Superior ‘Double scan’ coverage – every unit is both a Transmitter and a Receiver
• All Beam sets within a column take just 1 channel – eliminating potential ‘cross-talk’ between units
• Superior detection capabilities across Beam sets – as up to 4 Beam sets within a tower can be synchronised
• Selectable for activation via interruption of either one or two (adjacent) dual beam cells
• Optional 'Mono' detection of lowest beam for 'under crawl' protection
• Quick and simple wiring – to just 1 Master module within each column
• Integrated Heater included as standard
• Optional PSU available to power all Beam and heaters within each column
